History
Founded in 1912, the Talent Garden Club is one of Jackson County’s oldest civic organizations.
Members worked to make the city of Talent the second BEE City USA in 2014 and developed a pollinator garden in 2018. The club donated funds for the Great Green Garden at Talent Elementary School. They also raise money for scholarships and projects with a May plant sale, and participate in the Talent Harvest Festival in September and Talent Craft Fair in December .
Today
The Talent Garden Club is an organization that promotes environmentally healthy practices, educates our community about best gardening practices, encourages the formation of pollinator gardens, finances scholarships for students pursuing horticulture related majors, and donates to multiple environmental related community organizations.
We have a plant sale every May in order to raise funds for scholarships and community garden projects. (Thank you to Rogue Compost and Plant Oregon for your donations of compost, and Territorial Seed for your donation of seeds that helped to make this sale possible!)
Through our fundraising efforts, we have given out scholarships to Phoenix High School seniors, supported the creation of community pollinator gardens in Talent, and given grants to organizations such as ACCESS community garden, CASA, Oregon Farm Corps, Rogue River Watershed Council, and the Rogue Valley Farm to School program.
